Diabetes Diet

Do I need to give up sugar and how to do it?

Despite the fact that the human body is omnivorous (it will digest anything - from lard to gourmet lobsters), the need for carbohydrates (specifically, glucose - grape sugar) for its control and guiding center - the brain is both round-the-clock and life-long.

Of course, in the absence of better, he will use a lower quality substitute - sucrose (in the ordinary life - sugar), but it will be the same as filling a racing car with diesel fuel - it will most likely start, but it will creep in half in half.

By consuming sugar, a person turns the movement of his life from the swift running of an elegant cabriolet into a “gait” of a pitiful primitive carts with wobbling wheels practically trampling in place, no speed and meager length of the route.

Do I need sugar in the body?

If we talk about sugars (carbohydrates) in general, then yes, we need it. The whole question is what kind of substance gets through the bloodstream to the brain to feed it. If we are talking about glucose, then the brain will function with all due efficiency, without any headaches, nausea and memory failures.

But a man almost for a long time almost adapted sucrose (also known as sucrose - cane sugar) for the same purpose, making sugar beet and cane by industrial crops, and starting the production of surrogate glucose at full capacity. The word “almost” means that asking the brain whether it likes the new power system didn’t bother at once — and when the hands did reach, it was no longer possible for industrialists to give up huge profits from a well-established business (in 1990 110 million tons of sugar).

But what can such a bad thing happen to a person from the consumption of a completely ready product, such a sweet and accessible product as sugar, if the substance is already created by nature itself?

Indeed, it can be obtained by the body when eating carrots or melons, drinking pineapple, maple, birch sap - but in doses that do not determine brain feeding strategies, and there is no sugar cane or chew cane (especially rich in sucrose) head

But the creators of the method came up with another - to get the concentrate of this substance from the juice of sugar plants - a product that is hundreds of times more saturated with carbohydrates than the original raw materials. Saturated literally deadly.

The fact is that during absorption in the intestine, sucrose-sucrose is hydrolyzed into two simpler carbohydrates:

  • α-glucose;
  • β-fructose.

While both substances have the same chemical formula (C6H12O6), their structure differs significantly. Fructose is a ring of 4 carbon atoms and 1 oxygen atom, and glucose is also a ring (and also with the inclusion of 1 oxygen atom), but there are already 5 carbon atoms here.

Due to the difference in the chemical structure that determines the properties of the substance, these carbohydrates and behave differently.

If glucose is truly a universal "fuel" for the brain, kidneys, liver, muscles (including the heart), then fructose can be processed exclusively by the liver. For in the muscles of those enzymes that, after a series of transformations will lead to the conversion of fructose into glucose, simply do not exist, therefore, it does not represent any value for them.

It generally comes with glucose, as they say, “to the load” - a thriving liver, so as not to “lose the good”, quickly translates it into fat-like substances (triglycerides), initially flooding the bloodstream, and at the end of the path - deposited in the walls of arteries or forming fat "dungeons" for internal organs (this is not counting the constant "infusions" in so abundant deposits of fat on the stomach, buttocks, neck and other places).

So, the consumption of sucrose to satisfy the energy needs of the body is not possible due to the fact that:

  • in each “load” of sucrose, the proportion of glucose really beneficial to the body is exactly half the volume of absorbed carbohydrate (the remaining half is just ballast);
  • only a tiny fraction of fructose (as part of sucrose) eventually becomes glucose, which is valuable to the body;
  • utilization of fructose itself requires the expenditure of energy taken away from the body.

Due to the consumption of sucrose (a substance having only the appearance of energy saturation), in addition to depriving them of the organs of vital force, there are more:

  • increased blood viscosity (due to flooding with triglycerides);
  • obesity;
  • tendency to thrombosis;
  • premature atherosclerosis;
  • stable arterial hypertension.

The combination of all these factors is fraught with brain and heart catastrophes, therefore the above phrase "deadly rich concentrate" in relation to sucrose (sugar) is fully justified.

But the role of β-fructose in the body does not end there.

Dependence on sweet

Despite the high risk of developing diabetes, glucose has one undoubtedly remarkable property - it can cause true satiety. When the blood flowing through the hypothalamus of the brain is assessed as containing enough carbohydrates, insulin production by the pancreas (pancreatic) gland is turned on - and all digestive efforts are stopped.

But fructose (neither as a component of sucrose, nor in pure form) never creates such a sensation - therefore, the one who does not feel the brain does not give a signal to “halt”. And although the body is already exhausted from an excess of fat “stashes”, “lunch goes on without a break for lunch” - after the cake sent to his mouth, the hand reaches for the next one, for “it seemed to be quite tiny”.

Taking into account that the reserves of “seized” negative emotions in the body (which are already not contained in any bins) are constantly replenished, the need for sweets forms a closed cycle of “tears from the eyes - the sweet into the mouth”.

Another brake that stops food millstones is the hormone leptin, produced by adipose tissue, but its release in response to the flow of fructose into the blood also does not occur - and the liver has to process everything that goes in almost continuously around the clock.

Depending on the sugar, the following observation results are possible:

  • the impossibility of limiting oneself in the consumption of sweets;
  • a noticeable change in well-being with a lack of sweets (from inexplicable nervousness and spleen to “breaking through” with cold sweat and a palpable bodily tremor);
  • the occurrence of digestive disorders (from “sucking under the spoon” to abdominal distention with intestinal gases - flatulence);
  • stable increase in the diameters of the waist and hips, which becomes visible when they are regularly measured (or perceptible by clothing).

Obesity as one of the consequences of abuse

As dispassionate statistics testify, if sugar consumption in the USA (with all the food eaten) is plus or minus 190 g per day (three times the norm), then in the Russian Federation it is not more than 100 g / day.

But - attention! - we are talking about sugar in its pure form and does not touch at all the “disguised” in bread, ketchup mayonnaise, not to mention the “completely innocent” drinks, which are given out as natural.

Humanity has long been firmly planted on sucrose, which gives its producers fabulous profits, and consumers - paid for by their own money:

  • obesity (or far from a sports figure);
  • diabetes;
  • caries;
  • problems with the liver, pancreatic gland, intestines, blood vessels, heart, brain.

Even if Americans who are inclined to count meticulously, “burning” extra kilos in sports halls and on treadmills, cannot cope with the wave of obesity that covered their country, then it’s not necessary to speak about Russians at all - they can always “hide behind” a cold climate, eternal budget deficit and intense family ties, instantly braiding his legs when trying to go for a walk or to the gym.

And sugar for men who work hard on the relief of their muscles (paradoxically) is the easiest and cheapest way to recover from a workout.

Alas, the level of all sorts of grief, pursuing even very wealthy people (the level of fear, anger, own powerlessness before life, leading to pain and a desire for revenge, unnoticed and increasing from year to year in the subconscious of both all of humanity and its individual representatives), while it does not allow anyone to "slide" from the "sugar needle", from a long stay in the body of humanity becoming increasingly clumsy and jagged.

Of course, the cause of obesity is not only the consumption of sweets, but they are the shortest way to a spherical physique.

What other problems may arise?

To say that sucrose is only the cause of a bad figure is to say nothing.

To begin at least with the fact that, due to the consumption of sucrose, food moves through the intestines with greater speed - this is, if not diarrhea, then a state close to it, leading to a violation of the absorption of vital substances in it.

But due to changes in the level of the environment in the direction of excess acidity, the pathogenic microflora literally “blooms and smells” in all parts of the digestive system (from the oral cavity to the rectum), resulting in:

  • dysbiosis and candidiasis (thrush spreading throughout the body, causing the destruction of all tissues, up to the valves of the heart);
  • inflammatory processes (from stomatitis to ulcerative colitis);
  • cancer of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • fatty infiltration of the liver and its cirrhosis.

Metabolic disorders not only lead to diabetes, an increase in the level of dangerous cholesterol fractions and vascular problems.

The entire hormonal sphere is affected, because skipping the next portion of sweet is perceived as stress, leading to a release of 2–3 times adrenaline to the blood at once, while indulging in it leads to the production of “hormones of happiness” (serotonin and dopamine), to leave with which often there is not enough strength of mind, no presence of mind - I want to keep feeling longer, but for this it is necessary to increase the “dose”. Such is the typical addict tactic (and the logic of "sticking" for pleasure).

How to refuse sweets?

Since the sweet leads to a rapid rise in blood sugar - but also to an equally rapid fall, causing all the emotions of hunger (up to the fear of starvation), the consequences of giving up sugar look like terribly painful feelings:

  • mental (from the initial anxiety with outbursts of anger and fear - to a pronounced anger, culminating in complete prostration);
  • somatic (bodily).

The latter are expressed:

  • dizziness;
  • headaches;
  • trembling in the body;
  • muscle aches;
  • insomnia or nightmares;
  • asthenia (face looks sunken, cut off, with failed eyes and protruding cheekbones).

The state of "breaking" causes hopelessness and the inability to concentrate on affairs, continuing (from a particularly difficult first week) to about one month (depending on the usual sugar "dose").

But such sensations can only be caused by a sharp rejection of sweets in general (for which, for example, a role in a movie with the need to lose weight to certain dimensions may force).

Those who firmly want to change their lifestyle should simply be consistent and remember that you must first forever abandon the consumption of pure sugar (in pieces or sand), and then gradually wean out the extra chunks, shmatov and chunks of mouth-watering home-made cakes conversation at the table or "under the TV") to the half-bank of jam, compote, several glasses of sweet wine and other temptations.

Subsequently, it is more conscious (and with great respect) to approach the process of eating, setting the table, and when preparing dishes - to pay attention to the "disguised" sugar, because it as an excellent preservative is included in the recipe of so many store delicacies.

And then the "weaning from the sugar nipple" will happen unnoticed and painless for the body - and the state of health will be such that it becomes a living answer to the question of why you should limit yourself to food. After all, besides her, there is so much unusual and surprising in the world, to sit at the table - it means to miss it all for yourself irrevocably.

For no cake can compare with the flight of soul and body, achieved by a high degree of awareness, which is the only one that can help to get rid of ghosts and monsters inhabiting the hell of the subconscious mind.
